Police investigate a fatal crash on Lake Road in Webster.

Webster police say speed was likely a factor in a crash that killed two people early Saturday morning.

Acting Police Chief Joseph Rieger said the occupants, Leah Andrews, 26, and Torin Bond, 24, were killed when the car they were traveling in left the road, went up a dirt embankment and struck a tree.

Rieger said both occupants were living in Rochester, but were not natives to the area and it took some time to find and notify their families of the crash.

Rieger said Andrews was driving the vehicle eastbound when the vehicle left the road on a curve between Baker and Pellet roads. Webster police responded to the crash just before 7 a.m. and the car was lodged against a tree on the side of Lake Road.

The stretch of Lake Road where the crash occurred is curvy with lots of hills, and has a posted speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
