Anti-Cuomo stamps selling fast

New Yorkers looking to stamp dollar bills with "Cuomo Must Go! Your Vote Counts" will have to find another way to vent their frustration with the governor for a while.

The Spencerport vendor behind the popular stamp sold out his stock within hours of the Democrat and Chronicle posting a story online late Wednesday about anti-Cuomo currency circulating around the state.

Jim Arendt had said earlier in the day that he had sold "hundreds" of the red-ink stamps since he began offering them in January, and his website, 2adefender.com, listed 16 as being in stock.

But a few hours after the story was posted on DemocratandChronicle.com, the website alerted would-be buyers that the stamps were on back order and were expected to be available by April 30. As of early Thursday, the website showed over 150 stamps were on back order.

"Due to the recent newspaper article regarding this stamp, we are temporarily sold out," the website read. "More are currently in production and will be available very soon. — CUOMO MUST GO!"

The stamps appear to be most popular among gun-rights activists still smarting over the passage of the S.A.F.E. Act, Gov. Andrew Cuomo's signature gun control legislation that is considered among the strictest in the country.
