Crash on Route 104 kills motorcyclist

A 27-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon after a crash on Route 104.

Rochester police said they and State Police responded to Route 104, across from Maplewood Park, at 4:08 p.m. for a motorcycle-car crash.

Police said the motorcyclist, identified as Ramon A. Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, was traveling east when he lost control and crossed the median into the path of a westbound car.

Gonzalez was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:42 p.m.

Police said he had been staying with family in Gates.

The male driver and female passenger of the car suffered minor injuries.

Traffic on Route 104 westbound reopened about 8:45 p.m., police said.
