Letter: ‘Outstanding’ pay for Noce

Nicholas Noce, the Monroe County Water Authority’s executive director, is receiving a 5.5 percent salary increase in 2014 due to a rating of “outstanding” given him by the authority’s board of directors. “Outstanding” is the highest rating Noce could have received.

However, it is stated in the Jan. 2 newspaper that the raise that Noce received was “not the largest that the board could have given.” If the board had given him a larger increase, what would have been the justification for such an increase? Is there a rating higher than “outstanding,” or does the board consider him underpaid at this year’s salary of $184,829?!
