Guide: What you need to know about the LPGA Championship

Will you be following the 2014 Wegmans LPGA Championship at Monroe Golf Club this week? Here's what you need to know:

At a glance

What: Wegmans LPGA Championship, one of five major events on the LPGA Tour.

When: Thursday through Sunday.

Where: Monroe Golf Club (founded in 1923 and designed by Donald Ross), 155 Golf Ave., Pittsford.

Defending champion:Inbee Park.

Purse: $2.25 million. Winner's share is $337,500.

Total field: 150 players.

Par/yardage: 72/6,717

Format: 72 holes of stroke play. The field is cut to the 70 lowest scores and ties after the second round.

Charitable beneficiary: United Way's Graduation is the Goal.

Spectator parking

Monroe Community College (1000 East Henrietta Road)

• Free parking available in designated lots, no credential needed.

• Free shuttle service to and from the tournament beginning by 7 a.m. and continuing for one hour after play each day.

Spectator drop off

The only available drop off point is located at Whitehaven Cemetery on Marsh Road. There is no drop off along Golf Avenue or at the main entrance of Monroe Golf Club.

After drop off, spectators will be directed across Marsh Road to enter the auxiliary ticket gate, located near the 15th tee of Monroe Golf Club.

Bicycle parking

All bicycle parking will be at the auxiliary ticket gate along Marsh Road. There will be racks positioned there so you can lock your bike.

Handicap parking

• All handicap parking will be at Monroe Community College. There will be no parking or drop off at Monroe Golf Club.

• ADA Shuttle Bus service will be available daily at Monroe Community College.

Mobile device policy

• Device must be on silentat all times while on tournament grounds.

• Data use (texting email, etc.) is permitted in all areas of the golf course, except when a player is in position to play.

• Calls may be placed at any time in any enclosed tournament structure found on the grounds or in discrete areas far away from play.

• Photos are allowed Monday through Wednesday. No photos are permitted Thursday through Sunday.

• Audio and video recording is prohibited at all times.

Prohibited items

All bags are subject to search.

The following items cannot be brought to the course:

• Metal spikes

• Alcoholic beverages

• Large backpacks and bags

• Coolers

• Pets (service animals allowed)

• Weapons or other items deemed unlawful/dangerous.

Monday (Wegmans Pro-Am Day)

6 a.m.: Practice range opens.

7 a.m.: Wegmans Pro-Am begins.

6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.: Wegmans Pro-Am Hospitality open in Vista Room.

Tuesday (Community Appreciation Day)

6 a.m.: Practice range opens.

7 a.m.: Pros practice rounds begin.

12:15 p.m.: Conversation with Champions (ticket required, Vista Room).

6 p.m.: Pro-Am Pairings Party (Vista Room).

Wednesday (Corporate Pro-Am Day)

6 a.m.: Practice range opens.

6:30 a.m.: Corporate Pro-Am begins.

7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.: Pro-Am Hospitality suite open in Vista Room.

Thursday (First round)

6 a.m.: Practice range opens.

7:15 a.m.: First round play begins.

12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Live television coverage on Golf Channel.

Friday (Second round)

6 a.m.: Practice range opens.

7:15 a.m.: Second round play begins.

12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Live television coverage on Golf Channel.

6 p.m.: Beer and Food Pairings party (ticket required).

Saturday (Third round)

6 a.m.: Practice range opens.

8:30 a.m.: Third round play begins.

3 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Live television coverage on Golf Channel.

Sunday (Final round)

6 a.m.: Practice range opens.

8:30 a.m.: Final round play begins.

3 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Live television coverage on Golf Channel.

7 p.m.: Closing ceremony on 18th green.

LPGA Championship tickets

LPGA Championship Grounds Package: $95

Includes admission onto the grounds only. Package includes three "good any one day" practice round vouchers and four "good any one day" grounds vouchers.

LPGA Championship Clubhouse Voucher: $55

Includes admission onto the course and into the Monroe Golf Club clubhouse on any one day, Thursday through Sunday.

LPGA Championship Grounds Voucher: $38

Includes admission onto the grounds any one day of the tournament (Thursday through Sunday).

LPGA Practice Round Voucher: $10

Admission on the grounds any one day, Monday through Wednesday.

Special Events

Community Appreciation Day

All spectators will receive free admission to the grounds for Tuesday's practice round.

A Conversation With Champions

LPGA Players Lizette Salas, Jessica Korda, Gerina Piller and Christina Kim will discuss how they are "owning their tomorrow" on and off the course. Ticket includes admission to the tournament and luncheon on Tuesday. The event is sponsored by Charles Schwab & Co. and Monroe Golf Club Clubhouse doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the event begins at 12:15 p.m. Single ticket: $50. Table of 10: $350.

Beer and Food Pairings Party ($55)

Enjoy great beer and food, win prizes and meet LPGA players. Ticket includes admission onto the Grounds and into the Monroe Golf Club Clubhouse on Friday. Must to be 21 to attend.
