Pastor John "Mercury" Morgan was returning to his church Saturday from an event in Rochester that provided free school supplies to more than 450 city youths, when he realized something wrong had happened.

His stunt jump bike that he used to draw youths to that event had fallen off the bike rack attached to his vehicle. That happened on the way back to his church, Faith on Fire Fellowship, on Browncroft Boulevard in the city.

Morgan, who is senior pastor at the church, had just jumped over a helicopter into a burning wall at Saturday's event giving out the free supplies.

Pastor John "Mercury" Morgan is offering a $1,000 reward for the return of his missing stunt bicycle.

The stunt bike, he believes, fell off his bike rack when he turned from Route 104 east to Route 590 south, or soon after on 590. He didn't realize the bike was missing until he reached the church.

"I called the 911 operator, and they told me that someone had reported that there was a bicycle in the road, on the interstate," said Morgan. "I returned only minutes later, and the bike was gone."

He said he believes someone had picked up the bicycle and has no idea of its importance.

The stunt bike, which is used at outreach events by the church, is very difficult and expensive to replace. Morgan is offering a $1,000 award for its return.  He can be reached at (585) 615-7602.
